Rikers Island Visiting Schedule Fall 2010

new genus and new species

Indecision is the basis of flexibility. (Arthur Bloch cited)

News somewhat 'antiquated, but I notice only now. Will definitely be pleased to killimaniacs, but has been described a new kind of kill within the family of Nothobranchiidae , specifically Nimbapanchax , including two new species, a newly discovered and reclassified. The abstract of the article by Rainer Sonnenberg and Eckhard Busch can be found here , the full charges are applicable. In summary, the authors suggest, after an analysis of nuclear and mitochondrial sequences, a reclassification of the genus Archiaphyosemion, as suggesting new name Nimbapanchax . Also, after a study in Guinea, two new species have been classified: Nimbapanchax leucopterygius , first identified as Archiaphyosemion Maesen (Poll, 1941), which found a card here and Nimbapanchax melanopterygius , discovered in the region of Mount Nimba in the south-eastern Guinea.

addition Aphyosemion Maesen (Poll, 1941 ) has been reviewed and was transferred to the genus Epiplatys , after a study of the morphological features of fish question. You can see a description fishbase.org, namely here.

I hope to killifisher my friends might be interested, also because this will change the labels for those species in question. Finally, I use the post to wish a Merry Christmas and happy 2010 to everyone, a thousand of these tanks!
