How To Say No Gifts On Wedding Invitations

Pango longimanus

A man of genius makes no mistakes: his mistakes were the prelude of the discovery. (Cited in James Joyce)

seems that I only refer to the smaller fish (and in fact is partly true) but you have to do a post on this discovery, at least for someone like me who is crazy about the genre Pango.

Pango oblonga (Valenciennes, 1846) - source loaches.com

Ralf Britz & Maurice Kottelat (which even a few months ago he described Pango shores ) have discovered and classified as a new kind of eel-loach "and called it Pango longimanus that has as main features a very small size for the genus, the adult specimens measuring only 23 mm, as well as fin pectoral extremely elongated in males. Discovered in the central regions of Laos, was initially mistaken for sub-adult specimens of another species of Pango. After a closer examination of three specimens, which showed differences in the pattern and morphology in comparison with other species, it was discovered that one of the three was in fact an adult male, classifying these Cobitidae as the smallest of the genus Pango.

That said, expect to see photos of this eels, while I enjoy my P. Khula playing ...

New year, new killies

Each cue repeated twice is the beginning of an arrangement. (Cited in Frank Zappa)

No time to start the year and are already published articles on new species of killifish.
will be happy as usual my friends killifisher.

The fish in question is Nothobranchius Kadlec, an annual discovered and classified by Martin Reichard in Mozambique, after a search began In February 2008, in which 12 people were recorded between the banks of the River Save and the south bank of the Zambezi. Similar to N. furzeri (Jubb 1971), whose discoveries were made further south, is different from it to the reddish color of various parts of the body and some morphological differences in the fins.

beautiful fish, I must say, to the full article refer to the link on Zootaxa, here . After the four new samples of 2009 is interesting to see that the first killies of 2010 is still a Nothobranchius.

Habitat Nothobranchius furzeri - source nothobranchius.info

The 2009 however, two other publications that are not yet I had treated and that I take this opportunity to do.
The first relates to another year, it is Papiliolebias hatinne discovered and classified by M. Azpelicueta, C. Buti and G. García. The finds were made in the province of Salta, Argentina, in a temporary pond 5 km north of the basin of the Río Bermejo.

Papiliolebias hatinne - source pecescriollos.de

It differs from Papiliolebias bitter, widespread in the basin of the Río Paraguay, for some morphological Call For Price, including where some differences in the jaw and in the teeth and the number of vertebrae and rays.
Another nice little fish, to read an extract from the article that was published in Revue Suisse de Zoology 116 , I refer you here .

Aphanius mesopotamicus - photo by Brian W. Coad - source wikimedia.org

The second treaty is fish Aphanius mesopotamicus , discovered by Brian W. Coad , which he had already spoken his last post Fabio. Reclassified using samples stored in the museum and no gathering in the field, has an area which goes from Iran Iraq, near the Persian Gulf. The differences with similar species, especially with Aphanius Sophiaa (Heckel, 1849), who reside mainly in the morphology of A. mesopotamicus and its pigmentation.
To read the full article refer to this link .

Well, Well begun is half done, the nice thing is that N. Kadlec was probably already in the tanks of some passionate about a lot 'of time (such as those of Mark, ed), with another classification. Killifisher happening in the world, where allopatric speciation is common, especially in some genres, decades and entire populations are classified under a single species.

Mini Puffer

think that, being small and young, I can not be anything big. (Cited in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart)

I've always had a weakness for Tetraodontidae .
Especially for those of fresh or brackish water.
And still more especially for the mini puffer, or for the kind Carinotetraodon .

Carinotetraodon Lortet - source eol.org

Consisting of six species, differs from other Tetraodontidae primarily for its small size, ranging from 2 to 6 cm. Distributed in south-east Asia, especially between India, Borneo and Indonesia, with some species endemic only to certain very specific areas, like the case of the wonderful Carinotetraodon irrubesco (Tan, 1999), located just in some rivers of Sumatra and southwestern Borneo.
All species are classified as Not Evalued for the IUCN Red List, even if you do not yet have actual data of the various populations, yet the specimens in trade are almost all the catch. In Italy the only species reared and sold on a regular basis is Carinotetraodon travancoricus (Hora & Nair, 1941), which reaches into the aquarium an average length of 2.5 cm. Despite the size of the hunters are still active, with a diet primarily made up of invertebrates, with a particular predisposition for snails and bloodworms.

After some small piece of information opening, I refer you to the video Toshiya Nishimura, who takes care of Tetraodontinformes Laboratory, which is worth to be seen (perhaps with Google Trad, heheh).

In Italy, the only site that covers the subject in a comprehensive manner is obviously aware Aquarium, which really speaks to various puffer in great depth, and which I refer you to link . But we must also mention an article on reproduction the dwarf puffer Antonio Borrani on the site of the GAF (also published on the Playfish n. 18), this is the link .

For information on the taxonomy and morphology and habitat, I refer you to page fishbase, here, whereas a couple of other useful links are to The Puffer Forum , Dwarfpuffers.com , Tropicalfishfinder.co.uk , Zwergkugelfisch.de addition to those already mentioned above.

I'm setting up a 30 liter and still do not know what to put exactly. Who knows ...

Old Publications

True science teaches us above all to doubt and be ignorant. (Cited in Miguel de Unamuno)

Sifting site Zootaxa (find the link in the section on the right) I found an entire book, dated 2007, which could be useful not say but curious for a while 'people. Sure the amount of work behind is huge.

Corydoras haraldschultzi (Knaack, 1962) - source commons.wikimedia.org

In the book in question is Checklist of catfishes, recent and fossil, and catfish catalog of primary types of Carl J. Ferraris Jr ., A work mastondotica classification and cataloging of all the nice (but not too) catfish discovered until 2005. This in a nutshell a checklist of 3088 species of the entire order (at least those that are valid and registered), then goes to 600 and if that goes well pages are significant.
If you want to get an idea, the abstract can be found here .
The two virtual volumes (I love the idea of \u200b\u200ba library online) can be downloaded from here:
Volume 1 & Volume 2 .

may be useful to catfisher (I think of Patrick, for example), to solve some questions, but for sure we will have a much longer series of LXXX and Cxxx with which zoologists in the fight attempt at classification.

Medauroidea extradentata (PSG 5)

Kingdom: Animalia Phylum

:
Phasmatodea Family: Verophasmatodea
Superfamily: Anareolatae
Family: Phasmatidae
Genre: Medauroidea
Species: M. extradentata
Medauroidea extradentata

phasmid suitable for beginners for its simplicity in the herd.

from Vietnam, this insect loves temperatures hovering between 20 and 25 ° C

You can bring up common in the trays / boxes fauna, preferably more developed in height to facilitate the changes to the insect, also needs a spray of water more or less a day and a no. It feeds on leaves of roses and brambles, then do not despise the leaves of geranium and lettuce.

Sexual dimorphism is evident, the female is larger and squat, while the male is more slender and thin. The coupling, in adulthood, involves the deposition of a discrete number of eggs by the female, the drop in disorder in the substrate.

These eggs will hatch after 2 or 3 months without the need for incubation, mortality is not high, but the lack of humidity makes it more difficult for the hatched larvae.

The eggs are oval in the order of millimeters in size, have a black / gray color and a capsule quite evident.

At hatching the larvae measure less than a centimeter and are now beautiful lively, within a year pass through various sets before you get to complete the life cycle .
